ELLIS Institute Tübingen Scientific Director Bernhard Schölkopf has been awarded an honorary doctorate by Aalto University in Finland.
The honorary doctorate is the highest distinction conferred by Aalto University. In 2026, the university's schools of technology selected seven distinguished individuals whose contributions have had a significant impact on science, technology, culture, and society.
Bernhard Schölkopf was recognized alongside leading figures from academia, industry, and public service, including representatives from institutions such as Aalborg University, Yale University, and BOKU University.
The honorary doctorates will be awarded during Aalto University's ceremonial conferment of doctoral degrees on 12 June 2026.
