The Adaptive Intelligent System (AIS) project is developing an AI-powered digital teaching and learning environment for students and teachers at general education schools in Germany. The goal is to support students in their individual learning processes while reducing teachers' workload in assessment, diagnosis, and lesson planning.

Development of the Adaptive Intelligent System (AIS) will begin in autumn 2025. Starting in the 2026/2027 school year, an initial version of AIS will be evaluated at selected pilot schools for one grade level, two subjects, and two types of schools. From the end of 2026 onward, this first version is planned to be gradually rolled out across federal states in Germany.

Further development and scaling to additional grade levels, subjects, and school types is planned for 2027 and the years that follow.

Throughout the entire project, experts from academia and education will provide ongoing guidance and advisory support.
